Description
To Boris Udin, Art is beyond the aesthetical pleasing effect it provides. Art transcends mere looking at colorful paintings. In fact, it is the lifetime effect it has in one’s memory. For instance, those flashing colors and wonderful views that keeps coming back which in turn gives one a nostalgic and longing feeling to go back in time. This idea has always been the yardstick for Udin when he creates art works. Also, it is unarguable that these have reflected in Udin’s paintings and it makes them qualify as masterpieces.
His painting “The Birds Courtyard” is not outside these categories of masterpieces Udin created. The perfection in the painting using various colors makes it so real that with a long gaze, you start to see the birds mingling and making sweet chirpy sounds.
With a closer look, Udin posits unity in diversity by putting various kinds of birds like cocks, ducks, flamingoes in the same courtyard harmonized and perfectly coordinated without any issue.
And as such, the painting has a didactic message imbedded and well entrenched in the colors. It calls for unity amongst humans irrespective of the tribes or races. We are all humans. Just as in the paintings, they are all birds and Udin paints them to be in harmony in the same courtyard.
Udin brilliantly stimulates the sense of Unity in the viewers.
