FAMOUS ARTISTÂ Sergey Melnik

Sergey Melnik was born in 1962 and raised in Ufa. He received his art education at the Children’s Art School No. 1 named after A. Kuznetsov, at the Ufa College of Arts. In absentia he graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Akmulla, as well as the I. Repin Institute in Leningrad.
In difficult perestroika, he was engaged in design activities, arts and crafts, developed trademarks, sketches of badges, cards, interiors, worked in the North in the city of Raduzhny.
Since 2011, the artist returns to active creative work.
In 2012, Sergey began to work creatively in drawing, using only paper, pencil, rubber and nothing more. Realizing the importance of drawing, he develops his own unique technique. Working in the narrow framework of pencil and paper, black and white, the artist strives to convey not only materiality, but also color in complex tones.In 2014, Sergey Melnik joined the Union of Artists of Russia and since that time, the artist has been actively involved in national, regional and interregional exhibitions.
In the creative luggage of S. Melnik there are paintings dedicated to the city of Ufa and the Oktyabrsky district. Time flies rapidly. In place of old buildings, new ones appear, residential quarters of houses grow, new streets appear. Most of the artist’s works are devoted to urban views, but there was a place for landscapes. In his works, Sergey Melnik expressed his love for his native city.
